I feel like dropping another jewel today. 

Today’s folks have invested all their energy into superficial interactions.

Superficial attachments. Superficial everything.

In my travels I must admit in the past I have probably held very little leeway for folks to mess up, to not look a certain way, etc. but that was when I was a kid or a younger adult…. Now that I am grown up I realize things must  have a depth that you can’t achieve just through surface interactions. Don’t get me wrong I like a pretty face like the next one does but I have found that factor alone can not provide the necessary basis for good relationships. 

I come into contact with all types of people regularly offline and online who judge strictly on appearances. When I’m online I read my timeline regularly watching as many folks judge others purely on a photograph, a moment in time that will never be seen again. I find that folks rarely take the time or energy to truly investigate what type of person someone is, what’s in their mind and heart, etc. Nope, pretty much if you look a certain way that some may quantify as unattractive it ends there. Personally, I think that type of a mentality is bullshii and I include myself in the equation when it use to be something that drove my spirit. 

It reminds me of that movie “Hitch” where the Don Juan wasn’t your garden variety Don Juan but when the lady looked deeper than his looks she found what she had missing her entire life. Be honest when was the last time you seeked deeper to find what you’ve been missing for your entire life? 

Now don’t get me wrong I know plenty of beautiful people who are deep and physically attractive but they are always bombarded by those fake folks who only desire them for what they appear to be. That’s why so many of my beautiful friends are single, they are just plain tired of folks not really seeing them for who they are which are far more than their outside. 

All I know is that I can do nothing to change the tide of such human ignorance but I can change myself one day at a time so what is revealed to others is not just something that appears to be attractive but truly is from the inside-out.
